FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

By entering the PBC, you agree to abide by our Code of Conduct.

Do I need to be a member?

Yes. The person making the booking must become a member once their booking is confirmed. You can join or renew your membership at www.thepbc.org.au/join.

Petersham Bowling Club is a community-owned, not-for-profit registered club, so membership is part of how we operate. Under NSW registered club laws, we're required to have members in order to trade and continue serving our community. Your membership helps keep the Bowlo thriving, with fees going directly towards maintaining the Club, supporting live music and events, improving accessibility, and caring for our greens and grounds.

Bar Tabs

If you'd like to start a bar tab, simply ask at the bar when you arrive and our lovely staff will set one up for you. We'll need to hold a physical credit or debit card as security for the duration of your visit.

Please note that BYO drinks are not permitted on Club premises, including soft drinks, juice and other non-alcoholic beverages.

Can children attend the PBC?

Absolutely! Children are very welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.

When inside the Club, children must remain behind the white line near the bar in accordance with NSW liquor licensing laws.

While our top green is retired, our bottom green is active and is for lawn bowls only. Children are welcome to bowl with an accompanying adult but should not use the green as a playground or kick balls on the playing surface.

We have two baby change tables and five high chairs available.

Please note that we do not take bookings for children's parties inside the venue. In the event of wet weather, we cannot guarantee everyone undercover or indoor seating.

Food

The Grange Gully Bistro is independently owned and operated. You can view their menu and catering options here: https://www.thepbc.org.au/bistro.

For groups of more than 20 people dining during peak periods (12pm–3pm and 5pm–7pm), we strongly recommend pre-ordering catering.

Aside from a celebration cake, BYO food and drinks are not permitted.

The Bistro can store cakes in the cool room for you; however, freezer space is not available. Please bring your own candles, lighter, cake knife, plates, forks and serviettes, and speak to the Bistro staff when you arrive.

Wet Weather

If it rains, we'll always do our best to accommodate everyone. However, due to the size and nature of our spaces we cannot guarantee everyone undercover or indoor seating.

Are dogs allowed?

Absolutely! Doggo's are welcome in the outdoor areas, provided they remain with you and on a leash at all times. Dogs are not permitted on the bottom green grass surface.

Accessibility

The venue will be fully wheelchair accessible by October 2026 with thanks to community fundraising and grants.

We also have two ambulant toilets and baby change facilities.

Bucks, Hens, 18ths & 21sts

We're unable to accommodate bucks, hens, bachelor or bachelorette parties, or 18th and 21st birthday celebrations at this time.

We reserve the right to refuse or terminate any booking that does not comply with our booking terms and guidelines.
